Course Description:

This advanced course is designed to meet the educational needs of practitioners with at least 2 years of injecting experience with botulinum toxins and hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers. Each morning of this two- day course begins with a didactic session and includes a cadaver anatomy workshop. The afternoon is dedicated to a live-patient hands-on treatment session. Injecting participants must be licensed in Georgia and supply their own model patients. (participants are limited to one patient)

This is not a certification course. The program assumes participants have the requisite knowledge covered in beginner courses. To be fair to all in attendance the instructor will not review fundamentals of botulinum toxins and hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers that should be familiar to attendees with at least two years of injecting experience.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Describe the current FDA approved neurotoxins and their dosing regimes
  • Create a patient treatment plan for therapeutic and cosmetic Botox including placement and dosing determinations
  • Identify specific areas of the jawline that can be improved by dermal fillers
  • Describe the vascular anatomy of the lips
  • Describe the current protocol for hyaluronidase injections for vascular adverse events

Course Prerequisites: Completion of beginner level Botox and dermal filler course AND a minimum of 2 years’ experience placing injectables

About Dr. Meinecke: 

Dr. Gigi Meinecke has been active in the field of facial injectables since 2004. Her organization, “FACES,” provides cosmetic and therapeutic injectable training for medical and dental professionals with a core focus on comprehensive facial anatomy.Her courses integrate cadaver study with live patient injections.

In addition to teaching nationally, Dr. Meinecke is the Facial Injectables Course Director and Instructor at the Boston University School of Dental Medicine. 

She is author of the recently published book: “START AND GROW YOUR COSMETIC INJECTABLE PRACTICE.”

Dr. Meinecke is a past President of the Maryland Academy of General Dentistry. At the national level, she is past Chair of the ADA Council on Communications; she serves as spokesperson for the AGD. Dr. Meinecke is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry, the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists. Dr. Meinecke maintains a private practice in Potomac, Maryland.
